Christmas eve!

The past month has been pretty busy with college things, but a few nice things happened too.
Went out with Rosie the Friday before last to see her brother's band play. Was really nice, especially as I wasn't having to drive. Vodka was consumed. I'm so out of practice with drinking. I don't actually like the drunk feeling very much these days, though (I'M GETTING OLD).

Last week of term involved a class lunch at Nando's, Secret Santa, pork, apple sauce and stuffing rolls, and screenprinting the final batch of pub crawl scarves. Quite a lot of work and panic, too. The week before, we had Gustavo from Why Not Associates in. He set the brief that we're working on, and it's all quite a big deal, this. After speaking with him I completely scrapped my idea. It was for the best in the long run, but in between speaking to him and coming up with a new idea, I was a bit stressy. But it's all...ok now.

Anyway, Friday was the CHRISTMAS CRAWL OF CARNAGE. We've spent the past couple of months organising a pub crawl to raise money for or degree shows (the money coming in from selling scarves which act as your ticket to get deals in bars). I woke up to all the snow on Friday and didn't think I'd get there, let alone back. But I did make it, but it just involved leaving quite early. Was so glad I made it at all, and that quite a few people braved the ice to come out. We put so much time and effort in to it that it would have been such a shame if it all fell to bits!

But it was really nice! It's ridiculous, but that was the first night out we've had as a class in the whole time we've been on the degree (only a couple of people couldn't make it), and I can't believe that in a matter of months we'll all be going our separate ways!

Monday Helen and I went to Rosie's for Baileys hot chocolates, mince pies and present giving. Was nice. Tuesday night I was supposed to pick them both up and meet some other friends at the pub, but I got a couple of minutes up the road and turned round. It was SO ICY AND HORRIBLE. I cried when I got back in. Stupid overreaction, but it was just a bit scary, and I felt bad to let the girls down. Nevermind. They all still managed to get there, so at least I didn't ruin their evening.

So, it's Christmas. Off to my nan's later to see my dad, then we've got the family over for dinner tonight. Other than today, tomorrow and Boxing Day (where the same group of family will move between different houses), nothing else really planned. Quite a bit of work to be getting on with, but I'll try to just forget about that for a few days and enjoy things.

Merry Christmas!
